HISTORIC PRESERVATION: Ellis Meredith Chapter, NSDAR, participates in several projects to promote historic preservation. The membership supports Four Mile House by volunteering, sometimes in historical clothing. We do genealogy research. We maintain historical markers that have been placed by the chapter at historical sites. We are participating in the America 250! Project to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. (Insert photo of table with members)
EDUCATION: Ellis Meredith Chapter passes out copies of the Preamble to the Constitution and flags at several events during the year to educate people about the history of our country. We support schools, hold food drives, and promote scholarship programs available through NSDAR. (
PATRIOTISM: To promote our mission of patriotism, our chapter is involved in many projects to honor and support veterans. We celebrate Flag Day with a ceremony on Genessee Mountain. Other activities have been sending card to hospitalized veterans, participating in Wreaths Across America, and passing out “Thank you for your service” cards to veterans.
